Daytona USA now available for download on PSN and Xbox Live

Daytona USA has been around for a long while now, appearing first in arcades and then on the Saturn, PC and Dreamcast platforms. As of today, you can also find the game on your Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. In upgraded form, the title is now available through digital distribution channels.

According to the press release SEGA issued, both versions of the game feature newly enhanced graphics, steering wheel support and online multiplayer. This is intended to be your chance to feel like you're playing the arcade classic, all without leaving the comfort of your living room.

"Daytona USA is the game that truly defined head-to-head racing for a generation of arcade gamers," said Haruki Satomi, Vice President of Digital Publishing for SEGA of America. "We have re-created every element of the Daytona experience for the new console version. Having the ability to play the game in online multiplayer turns your living room into the arcades of yesteryear."

The updated release supports the Logitech GT Driving force steering wheel and all Xbox 360-supported steering wheel controllers, which should ensure that it comes as close as a release can to replicating the thrill of experiencing it in the arcades. If you're interested, you can download it for $9.99 on the PlayStation Network, or for the equivalent 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live Arcade.
