Phantasy Star Online 2 hits a million registered players

Today Sega announced that Phantasy Star Online 2 has officially hit one million registered users.
Considering the game has yet to hit the US, and these figures are just from Japan, that's pretty impressive. Though "registered users" is not always equal to active players. In July Sega announced 730,000 users with 91,513 concurrent players at its peak. That's not a very substantial chunk.
In celebration of one million players, Sega is giving prizes to 100 players. Anyone who logs in between October 17 and November 7 has a chance to win tickets to the Phantasy Star Series 25th Anniversary Concert, 25th Anniversary Sound Collection CDs, signed posters, and commemorative t-shirts. Two very lucky gamers will also win a PSO2 designed Alienware M14x laptop.
PSO2 is set to hit American PCs next year. There's still no word yet on whether we'll get the Vita version, but one million registered users in Japan might tell Sega there's a market for it here.
