Rayman Legends falls to a Q1 2013 release

Rayman Legends won't find its legs on store shelves until the first quarter of Ubisoft's 2013 fiscal year, the France-based publisher confirmed today to, taking one stellar-looking title away from the Wii U's launch lineup.

The sequel to 2011's Rayman Origins was initially set to launch this holiday alongside Nintendo's Wii U -- the console the platformer would remain exclusive to, unlike its multiplatform predecessor.

"We're happy that fans are excited about the game, and we are taking the time to make sure we deliver a game that lives up to and hopefully exceeds their expectations," said Ubisoft in a statement to VideoGamer.

The delay will not affect other Ubisoft titles set for the Wii U launch and launch window, the publisher also noted, meaning games like ZombiU, Assassin's Creed 3 and Just Dance 4 should still appear on shelves as scheduled.
