Rocksmith DLC teaches you to play the bass

Rocksmith is neat. A video game that can actually teach you to play the guitar? What a nifty idea. And it's about to get niftier.

Ubisoft has announced a DLC expansion for the game that will add compatibility with bass guitars. This will also add bass compatibility with all on-disc and DLC songs that feature the instrument.

Players won't even need an actual bass to get started, as they'll be able to use the first four strings of their guitar to emulate the instrument.

Rocksmith's bass DLC expansion hits both PS3 and Xbox 360 on August 14th for $30 or the equivalent in Microsoft moonpennies.
