Sonic Team has no plans for Sonic 4 Episode 3

This is not how episodic games are supposed to work, you guys.

Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2 has been a long time coming, considering Episode 1 came out a year and a half ago. Episode 2 is finally on its way, but we may be waiting even longer for Episode 3. Like, forever.

The game's producer, Takashi Iizuka, has stated that Sonic Team currently has no plans to make a third episode, cutting the season short at two. "We are looking forward to hearing the feedback from the users for Episode 2," he told Digital Spy, "but we are currently not planning to release another episode."

Sorry, Knuckles.

Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2 is currently slated for a May release on various non-Wii platforms.
