Metal Gear Online shutting down gradually
If you're still playing Metal Gear Online, the multiplayer game included with Metal Gear Solid 4, you might want to savour it now. Konami has announced plans to shut the servers down on June 21st, four years after the game launched in 2008.
It's not happening all at once, though. The in-game store will close its shutters on March 21s and players will lose the ability to create new characters by late April.
On the plus side, the game's expansions will be free to play until the shut down date. Metal Gear Online is a pretty unique experience. If you've ever been curious about it, now's the time to give it a try.
