Cool list. If it were my list, I'd take away a couple of marks from "It's Blitz!" (wasn't too keen on it) and add a couple to "Middle Cyclone" (one of my favourite releases this year so far). I've listened to nine on there. Going to check out the new Phoenix next.

I liked the Dredg album a lot more than you (and the 311 album, but that probably has to do with my personal bias towards the band), but you liked the Wilco album a lot more than me!

The new Dredg has some really catchy, standout tracks (I Don't Know is on my "most listened to" list of 2009) but the songwriting really struck me as bloated in spots (the opener really suffers from this) and the whole thing feels needlessly padded out with those Stamp of Origin interludes and such. It felt like the album could have been reduced to 10 or 12 tracks and would have made for a much smoother listen.

Speaking of which, I actually saw Dredg back in March. I was pretty unfamiliar with them at the time and it was a friend's idea to see them, and I agreed to it only because they happened to be playing only a few miles from where I was at the time (Chameleon Club in Lancaster). It was a decent show that actually had me looking forward to their new album, though obviously they only played the good songs.

I hadn't heard about Chris Cornell's "Scream" until now. After seeing that score, I immediately became angry at the world. Then realized Rolling Stone gave it a 0... I don't know if I'll ever be able to take Soundgarden seriously again. If he is trying to ruin his reputation here, he's doing a fine job. :@ I've only listened to the title track and feel sickened. There must be a few good songs on here, right?!
