Well, I mean, the first movie was really surprisingly good, wasn't it? The trouble with the sequel is that it doesn't have the advantage of surprise. Still a good film, though.

I get ya. The thing with superhero sequels is they usually develop a new premise/conflict. This is the first one in a while where they more or less repeat the original. (i.e. Tony Stark's journey to become less of a jerk ass.) The first "Iron Man" was so inventive and fun, I didn't expect part two to succumb to "Rocky Syndrome" so early.

Maybe part three will be crazy and all, what with the Mandarin.
