As much as I like the game now, I can certainly understand why one would not like it so much.

The game does seem ridiculously challenging until you get the hang of it.

Personally, I think it's good to have reviews that don't follow the norm and think outside the box a little. Where's the fun if everyone gives every Zelda game a 10/10? That's what I hate about most "professional" reviews; they seem to automatically give everything made by Nintendo or Square/Enix at least a 9, usually a 10.

A little controversy and pot stirring is a good thing. :D

That's not really controversial, though. Zelda II gets all the hate... I can see why, but I personally think it's among the best of the Zelda games.

Though I never will beat the damn thing...

Hey, do you think if I reviewed a Zelda game, it could count as "Z" for the alphabet challenge?

You're giving it an 8.8?

I agree that it isn't really controversial since it is probably the most hated non-CDi Zelda game.

Zipp: No. Not unless you review this one, which you'll notice conveniently starts with a Z.

Hm... I was gonna do Zork Nemesis, but the chances of my computer running it are slim. I may default to Zelda. I'm still determined to get all the letters this year, though what the hell I'm gonna play for Q and X escapes me.

I pretty much refuse to touch Xenogears ever again.

To this day, I probably wouldn't have either, if not for the fact I at one time posessed the ultra useful NES Atlas.

Man, that thing is by far the best guide Nintendo made ever. I wish I still had it. Covered SMB 1-3, Zelda 1-2, Mega Man 1-3, TMNT 1-2, Castlevania 1-2, Star Tropics, and I believe some of the Capcom Disney games. I think it covered Duck Tales and Chip and Dale: Rescue Rangers.

All those games with completely and comprehensive maps in one guide. I couldn't have finished the Great Palace without it.

Curiously, I have beaten the game, and I still hate it.

Not unusual. I have bothered to finish Earthbound and FF 1 for the NES, yet I have mixed feelings about each. I'm honestly not sure how I would score either one, because I simultaneously love and loathe those games.
