I like Muse.

I've seen them twice and am hoping to see them again. I plan on attending the U2 concert at the Medowlands but it'll be tough to get tickets and I'm not playing hundreds of dollars.

Seeing Muse and U2 at a single show sounds awesome to me, but this announcement has some downsides as well. It'll be much harder to get tickets now, and of course I'd much prefer to see Muse headlining rather than hiding under the shadow of U2 (especially given the quality of U2's recent material). The Meadowlands show is the only one they've announced so far as a Muse/U2 collaboration, so maybe they'll do a solo show whenever they inevitably come to Philly. Who knows. Either way, I've been dying to see Muse live for ages now so I can't wait.

I saw Muse a few years back at a festival. It was pissing it down with rain and we'd just discovered our tent was flooded. Some people in front of us had lifted the top off their gazebo and were using it as an enormous umbrella, which means we couldn't see a thing. Muse played as a straight three-piece with tonnes of backing track material, which I was really disappointed about. It was too cold and we left before the end to get a bus back to Leeds.

They are, however, very good.

Have seen them a couple of times, here in Seattle. They were great while performing the material off of Absolution but I wasn't very familiar with Black Holes, when I saw them again a couple years back, and my familiarity with music typically determines how much I'll enjoy it. And I just heard that Tool's got a tour coming up this summer?! Awesome. I tried to get tickets to one of their shows once, but they sold out in literally about five minutes.

There's no band I'm more familiar with than Muse so that won't be an issue, heh.
