I'm sure I've vaguely mentioned this in the past, but I'm working on a single-player Half-Life 2 mod.

And today, good people, we released our first screenshots.

I could have sworn I already left a snarky post about how you'll probably be done before the Black Mesa Source guys even update again. weird.

anyway, looks cool. you'll probably be done before the Black Mesa Source guys even update again, too.

The Black Mesa lot aren't great at updating but they continually claim to be hard at work at it behind the scenes. I cannot wait for that thing.

I need to check out the last chunk of Minerva, I only played the first or possible first two chapters.

since you seem to know about this sort of thing, what other good mods are out there for HL2? and are there any that make the game tougher?

I'm mainly knowledgable about single-player TCs...

Aside from Minerva, there's not an enormous amount of good stuff for Source, disappointingly. Dear Esther is well worth checking out so long as you're not expecting a high-octane action game. It's basically an exploration of an environment, with a triggered voiceover telling the ambiguous story of what happened there before your arrival. Buggy and odd, but strangely beautiful.

HMS Defiance is a nice little distraction, but at half an hour long and with some of the ugliest custom content on the planet, it's not essential.

Weekday Warrior is the most infuriating and badly designed adventure game on the planet, but it's an idle distration, and the custom content and programming involved in creating that thing is highly commendable.

I'm just downloading the demo of Logistique as we speak - I'll keep you posted on that one.

Search for all these on ModDB.
