Adam Sessler from XPlay posts an astonishing video response to some of the comments on his Killzone 2 review. He's hilariously angry, but you can understand why. He 5/5'd it, and still people are questioning whether his overall tone suggested he resented having awarded it such a high score because it's a Sony game. His Christian Bale-esque rant is fabulous to watch, and it's great to hear an excellent and respected games journalist really stand up for himself like this. Lovely work.

honestgamer - February 08, 2009 (11:07 AM) The funniest part of that video to me was hearing some of the ludicrous--and tyical--fanboy stuff read out loud. I wonder how many people would say that stupid crap if they had the very real fear of hearing someone broadcast it audibly on YouTube for all the world to see. As for Sessler's responses, they weren't anything that most game critics haven't thought a few times a day. I really don't get why so many idiot readers are convinced that game critics are paid by companies for their reviews. I've been accused of it myself, and it never happens when I think "Wow, I probably liked this game more than some readers will." For me, the most recent example that springs to mind was when I was accused by a Sony fan of being on Microsoft's payroll because I gave Uncharted an 8/10 instead of a 9 or a 10. Clearly, the people making such claims: 1) have no common sense; 2) don't know the game critics at all. |
