Reviews and Drama and Skins.
June 11, 2008

First review for this lovely website.

Played through this one in a day, scribbling the above as I went along. It's not a terrible game by any means (though you'd be forgiven for thinking it was from the first hour of play), but it's distinctly average even at its peak. Dull, predictable, and very pointy and clicky. Those all go hand in hand these days, alas.

Made a vague attempt to go to bed about two hours ago but ended up watching more Skins, which is actually embarassingly watchable verging on Actualy Quite Good. For those of you based across the pond who may not know: Skins is a UK drama series following the lives of a group of 18-year-olds in Bristol. A lot of the premises are pretty obvious but it's generally well scripted and acted, and seems to be getting better as it goes along. It's been on for a couple of years but I've only started watching it online recently. The first episode put me off majorly when it was first aired, but on the advice of my girlfriend I gave it another go. As much as people may laugh, I'm pretty glad I did.

Right. Bloody hell. Sleep. I really am shockingly tired.

Outside bet on Croatia giving Germany a hard time tomorrow, anyone?

L x

Good job on that first review. I hope to see more and to see your writing continue to develop. It seems to me like there's a good chance you'll fit in here quite nicely.

I have no idea what you're talking about at the end there, though I'm guessing football and I just don't have any idea why someone would root for one or the other of those teams. It's not just because I'm American, either. Some of it has to do with not following sports--any sports--at all.

'Soccer' indeed. :)

European Championships. Not overly arsed about who wins. I'm generally not an enormous sports head myself, but something about this sort of competition makes me go a bit football mad every couple of years.

Watching sport in pubs and bars has the same effect.

I've trained Jason to call it Football around other UK guys in fear of a bitter rant.

Croatia are the team I've adopted for the Euros, so I'll be cheering them on.

Kudos on the virgin review, though, and good job on it. Of oucrse, I'll expect a 24-hour turn around each title I give you, now.
