Obviously, if I have a profile on this site, it means that I play video games. I also happen to write, and the two have made a harmonious combination for a hobby. I mainly write FAQs and reviews, and *try* to stick to one of these categories:
-RPG and non-linear adventure games
-Anything with horror or b-movie elements
-Anything unique, obscure, or just plain weird
Sounds broad, but it also means you probably won't see a Super Mario Bros. 3 review from me any time soon.
Title: A year ago tomorrow... Posted: September 24, 2011 (09:39 PM)
...was the day my first HG review, Breath of Fire III, went live. My next review will also be my 100th review. It's been a very fast year, and I've enjoyed my time here and feel I've improved quite a bit. However, I still feel like I have a ways to go. Thank you, everyone, for letting me into this community and helping me to grow.
I've been putting together a Chrono Trigger review for the last couple days. I was hoping to have it up today, but it's been going pretty rough. Mostly, I think it's due to the medication I've been on after having my wisdom teeth removed.

I'm glad you joined the community. I agree that you've improved quite a bit, and there's always room for further improvement as a person gains experience. I look forward to seeing how the next year treats you here, as well. Also, congrats on the 100-review milestone.

Joe, I've been writing reviews since 2002 *coughs*... and even now, I'm still thinking I need to improve in some way or form. I guess that's a good thing to think that, though, because I'd hate to think I would feel comfortable stopping after a certain point and think, "Well, I guess I'll crank out reviews this specific way from now on!" I said think three times in that last sentence.
Anyways, looking forward to that 100th review!

Thanks, Jason and pickhut! The 100th review's going pretty well, I think. I just need to stay off the pain meds long enough to finish it.

Haha, well, I admit that mine was a 'joke review'... but yours is pretty awesome. "DOWNERS" lol.

At least you said King Neptune's was the worst since Athena and not something crazy like EVEN WORSE than Athena.
Because that simply isn't possible...or at least, if it is possible, I don't want to know about any game meeting that standard...

I played the arcade version of Athena last night on PS3. For 30 seconds.

I rented Athena for a weekend. I've been coping with it, though I do still sometimes let out a blood-curdling scream in the middle of the night.

Congrats! I think I've reviewed less than a dozen games despite owning over 900, so you have determination. I figure I'll have to review 8 games each day to finish within a year.
