I'm going to see Metallica at the O2 Arena on Monday.
I suppose I should attempt to listen to Death Magnetic.

I heavilly advise against it.

I know. But I feel a bit sorry for them. It must get a bit depressing when you know that the majority of your audience are only there for the stuff you did 20 years ago.

Yeah. Everything Metallica did in the late 90s and on sucks (St. Anger and later; honestly didn't know they had an album after that.... That's just how much I care about them now).
Their old stuff's still pretty good, though.

I had the chance to see them last month when a couple of my friends planned to go to their show in Philly, and I was like, nooooooo...

Because you just don't like them or because everything after And Justice For All is rubbish?

Doesn't matter if their new stuff sucks, Metallica is still one of the best concerts you can go to, since they actually care about their performance and give you your money's worth. Unlike certain other bands(Red Hot chili Peppers, I am looking at you, you worthless sacks of over rated crap).

Yeah, I get that impression. I'm thinking their energy and enthusiasm will probably carry the weaker Death Magnetic songs. I listened to it today. Not great, but not St Anger either.
