Title: Question about buying a Wii.
Posted: August 04, 2011 (10:07 AM)
I've been trying to look this up but I haven't really found a definitive answer. So I've read up on that the Wii Motion Plus was originally an accessory that attached to the Wiimote to essentially improve its accuracy, sensation whatever you want to call it, but now it's built in to new Wiimote controllers.

As far as I can tell the Wii Mario Kart bundle is the only bundle in production for the Wii. Originally the Wii Sports & Wii Sports Resort bundles advertised that it came with a Motion Plus controller packaged with the console, however, the new console with Mario Kart does not. I'm guessing it's because the controllers all have built in standard? Just wondering if anyone can confirm if buying a new Wii will get me a Motion Plus controller (Venter?)

Every Wii system that has been on the market now for something like a year (unless someone is getting rid of some really old stock) includes the Wii Motion Plus as part of the bundle, to my knowledge. Nintendo started by including Wii Remotes with the adaptor attached, but more recently the size of the Wii Remote with Motion Plus was reduced so that they look like normal controllers. I'm pretty sure you're safe.

I'm glad to see people discussing upcoming releases. That chart is an experiment on my part. I know that I used to love it when sites would have a chart like that, but lately it seems like no one does and I miss it. This way, it's easier to tell at a glance what is coming release-wise, and to preorder if interested, and for people who preorder to help out the site. I'm hoping that while adding value to the site, the chart will also add revenue. That would justify keeping it around.

As for the upcoming releases that interest me, Deus Ex is clearly the big title on that list. I had heard a lot of people interested in El Shaddai, too. Personally, I'm actually interested in playing Bigfoot: King of Crush... and it sounds like I may even get my chance.

Sweet. That's what I thought but I wanted to make sure. Thanks.

..yeah. It's actually.. :D.. just an extra field on the edge of the infrared sensor to allow detection when you turn the pointer out on the edge of the screen. But yeah, any new box comes with the wii+

The Wii Motion+ is significantly more responsive anywhere you point it on the screen, fleinn. Playing a good WiiMotion+ game like Red Steel 2 that really uses it to its full advantage makes the difference obvious. Sometimes you say some weird things.

:p lol. No, I didn't mean to say the response when playing the games the wii+ was designed for (such as Red Steel and The Conduit) isn't a lot better. And that you avoid the "oops, no sync" moments all the time on the other earlier games as well. It gives a massively better response on all of the games, and it's an ingenious solution.

I'm just saying that it's actually just two small extra infrared sensors at the edge of the field that help the system "catch" and predict the direction of where the pointer is leaving the screen. It's simple, and it's genius.

...of course.. worth another 40 on top of the old Wii-system... aaah... not going to touch that one, I guess.

Is that post meant to be in the other thread? Seems a bit out of context here...
