Sorry, but I haven't yet shared the information about myself that would typically display here. Check back later to see if that changes, or if I instead choose to remain an enigma.
Bloodborne - Finished it Saturday. Phenomenal game. I've been a Souls fan since Demon's Souls so I was really excited for Bloodborne. The focus on faster-paced melee combat gives the formula a twist that makes Bloodborne a more fresh, unique experience than Dark Souls II. The combat is challenging yet extremely satisfying and the game environments are incredibly fun to explore. I also greatly loved the oppressive, horror atmosphere. It has a few minor flaws: the RPG elements have been dumbed, you pretty much have to be a melee build, inconsistent framerate in several areas, and long load times. Dark Souls is better, but there isn't another PS4 game as good as Bloodborne.
GRUMBLE, GRUMBLE . . .
Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number - I was a big fan of the first game, so I was very much looking forward to the sequel. I have mixed feelings about it but overall I enjoyed it. The game's mechanics are largely the same; however, the level design is for the most part completely different (there are a handful of levels that are in the exact same style as the original). The original's enemy layout was fairly randomized and encouraged speed and creativity to progress. Wrong Number's levels are more expansive but the enemy routing and placement is often set and predictable. Firearms are frequently necessary (and seem to draw FAR less attention than its predecessor), and slow, careful planning is a must. There are way more window shots, melee-immune heavies, and dogs. Later levels hav

Game of Thrones - Currently my favorite show on TV. I won't bother describing too much about GoT because most people either know everything about it or should just go watch it. I only got into it over the past summer from a co-worker's strong recommendation but I quickly plowed through all of it. Just finished the recently released season 4 blu ray. The nice thing about this show is there's zero filler. Even with all the deaths throughout the series, there are still tons characters both likeable and detestable. The writing & acting is great. The costuming & special effects are legitimately film quality. The show's world is interesting and unique. There never really is a "bad episode." The only complaints to be made are minor. I guess it's not the show for you if you don't like expli
Muttonchops all over the place.
The Order 1886 - Bought it last night and finished it today. Disappointing but a fun experience. Most critics shat all over the game for being short, linear, and cutscene & QTE heavy, but Beyond Two Souls is a 9/10 so I don't see what the problem is. It's a competent cover shooter with really gorgeous graphics & set pieces and an interesting game world. The story is enjoyable but predictable. The voice work is excellent aside from when Galahad goes all angry Nolan Batman for a couple scenes. The game just suffers from really weird design decisions. In between shooting, there's a lot of mood-setting, slowly walking and talking, picking up random objects and examining them, or QTEs. Also the game's more
Walking Dead Season 2 (PS4) - It's weird that I enjoyed Telltale's second season of their adventure game more than season 4 of the TV show. While certainly a step down from Season 1, I really liked seeing where Clementine's story went and the evolution of her character. The story has its flaws though. Season 2 has nowhere near the emotional weight of Season 1, and I think this is largely because there never is a character that interacts as well with Clem as Lee did. At first I thought Luke was going to play that role but that just kinda pattered out starting with episode 3. Instead Season 2 just seems to push violence and gore a bit more (the arm stitching up scene was a bit tough to watch). I also felt this one was a bit more unoriginal with major plot points being pretty much dire
Go away, Anna.
There's a big blizzard heading for the Northeast more than likely as retribution for Tom Brady's deflated balls. The perfect time to do some serious gaming! Here is where I talk about games I've been playing.
