Title: The Stay-Safe Bet
Posted: June 30, 2008 (05:02 AM)
Short version: I win.

My weekend of suspected injuries went pretty well, considering how much I had to contend with during this period. The patio was constructed without flaw (but with the crazy paving not looking as good as I had hoped. Might take the sledgehammer to it next weekend and try again) and football went pretty well. I have niggles, which aren't the same as injuries, so i still win.

We won all out initial qualifiers, which we expected to do well in, which put us into a league-set-up with the top eight teams. Which we also won, then got dumped out in the semi-finals on the way to the final which was a bit of a shame. Kept the score at 0-0 throughout then got caught on a counter-attack right at the death of extra time and out we went.

I had a pretty good showing. I did, admittedly, dislocate my shoulder at one point, but we popped it back in and now it just feels a little sore, like I'd slept on it oddly. Niggle! I'm also sunburnt to hell as we ended up playing more football than we expected due to doing so well. Obviously, what with being English, I'm not used to direct sunlight and now have a comically bright red face. I also got a really bad cramp in my right calf and the muscle still has yet to fully loosen up, but this isn't a big thing, either. Then I went home and ran into another bug on Oblivion that might very well halt me right where I am.

I plain cheated three times, too, and got away with each. Now, person-who-will-remain-nameless, pay me my bet moneys!

So you look like a shrimp? Like a SHRIMPMASTER G!

I suggest you look especially hard for hidden pathways before reloading from an hour-old save this time! Speaking of Oblivion, though, I learned yesterday that so much as touching the 360 while it's on is a Bad Idea. *cradles mangled disc and weeps*

I like how you classify a dislocated shoulder as a niggle, too. Only you, EmP. Only you.

It's not a path problem. A quest character isn't where he should be, so I can't advance what I was trying to do.

This inspires me to write another cellphone review involving my girlfriend.

Aloe Vera is your friend. Seriously. It's great.

I applaud you on your victory, though. It's certainly well deserved. I also agree with VM - your classification system is very strange to us normal people who don't injure ourselves just from walking around every day. But at least it's fixed for the most part.

And at least you have a legitimate reason for having a cramp. I swear to God every time I go swimming, my foot (or both) will cramp up so bad I have to get out of the water. And as near as I can tell, it's only because I've been in there a while. It's really, really gay. Yours, though, at least was nobly won in valiant battle with your sporting rivals.

Good job on that, though. Least you can say you almost won, and from the sound of it, you did a lot better than you expected, so to me, that's totally awesome.

Concerning your Oblivion adventures, though, are you sure you haven't killed this person that's not there by mistake? Or maybe going back there at a different time will help... Or maybe s/he's somewhere outside that area - sometimes directions can be really vague. Or at least they were in MOrrowind. <_<

Espiga: Do it.

WQ: Oblivion has guider arrows that show you were you have to go to meet people. I go where it points and get empty space where a man should be.

Re: Oblivion

I had exactly the same problem once. Are you talking about the Thieves Guild mission in Skingrad? If so, I looked it up online a while back and found out that this particular NPC can fall off one of the bridges and die, which is pretty dumb. If that's the case, there are a couple of alternatives to my knowledge. I got in by casting a 100% Charmeleon spell for thirty seconds.

As long as your face is red in a grotesque way and not white like that of a *shudder* clown, I don't care.

WQ: The reason why you cramp in water is because you did not warm your muscles enough, which tends to become more and more frequent the less you exercise since certain muscles of the body you do not move with some sports and do with others. Swimming is great because it is the only sport where every single muscle in your body works so naturally if something that is not used what so ever suddenly gets a shock like that, it will cramp. Try not to drown unless you have to or if it is really, really funny.

Huh. That makes sense. >_> Guess I need to exercise more, then. Drowning's not in my best interest. Haha. Fortunately, the water level's never over my head whenever I swim, so there's no real worry there.

I'll be going swimming when I go on my pre-orientation sailing trip in August! Man, I haven't done that since I was 11 or 12.
