Vagrant Story review

Review date unknown

James Gordon says: "The graphics in Vagrant Story are some of the best I've seen in a while... very smooth and life-like animations, stunning cinemas, phenomenal lighting, detailed polygons... this game's got it all. There is nothing here that's 2D; the characters and environments are all fully 3D."

Rob Hamilton says: "Every combat action Ashley takes affects a risk meter. As it rises, both good and bad things happen. He can cause much more damage, but his accuracy and defense both suffer. If you gain high risk because you chained a 10-hit combo on some fool and immediately get assaulted by something else, you'll receive a severe dose of pain."

Suskie says: "By and large, most RPGs aren't hard, really. They merely take a lot of time and effort to complete. This is because most RPGs base the player's skill on how much experience they've obtained, how many battles they've won. Racking up experience points is a time-consuming process, and it's hardly a challenge, unless you consider the test of endurance involved “challenging.” Your typical Final Fantasy or Dragon Warrior really doesn't take much skill to beat, now, does it?
