But then there are those who'll love the challenge, revel in the startlingly addictive gameplay, and see past the mundane-looking environments, amazing themselves with the slick, fashionable elegance the game's artwork possesses.

What of the game design we thrilled to in Shinobi III, the game most widely considered to epitomize Shinobi? What of double jumps and rainbow shuriken showers? Oh, they're still here. They just don't matter.

The Shinobi has series has been around for quite awhile, beginning as a simple arcade game. Since then, it has expanded and is now on the PS2.

Shinobi isn’t for the weak of heart. It’s always demanding, and it offers no forgiveness if you fail to deliver when it asks you to. If you cannot handle intense ninja action moves, stages that lack checkpoints, or mildly taxing platforming, then you should consider picking up a copy of Billy Hatcher instead.
