Puzzles are where the gameplay lies, and trust me, Monkey Island has plenty of them. From the cruelly simple answers to the complex, multiple-event solutions, the game's numerous puzzles are engaging and tough.

Aimed squarely at prospective new fans who were probably still preteens during the run of the original Monkey Island games, Monkey Island 3 is an OK if unremarkable adventure game when taken strictly in isolation. It looks well, plays well and sounds great. But it's not a proper Monkey Island entry.

Ah, the point-and-click adventure! As primitive as they may seem in the days of analogue control and full-3D environments, there’s no denying the enjoyment of a nice, slow-paced, puzzle-driven adventure. The Monkey Island series has to be my favourite point-and-click adventure series. Despite the taxing puzzles, you’ll rarely not be smiling as the games pour on their razor-sharp wit and humour at almost every possible interval. A quick recap: (This paragraph contains MAJOR SPOILERS for the first 2 Monkey Island Games - you have been warned).
