Mike Suskie says: "While it aggravated me in ways I'd anticipated, it captivated me in ways I hadn't. Ubisoft should be embarrassed that they haven't sorted out some of the series' biggest issues yet, but as long as they continue finding reasons for me to keep coming back, I will."

Fiddlesticks says: "Shenmue on the Dreamcast was once the king of offering pointless, “life-like” diversions to punctuate downtime in its main storyline. It offered Ryo Hazuki, the game’s protagonist, such tantalizing options like collecting toy figurines, drinking soda pop, and driving a forklift to make a living.
