River City Ransom reviewReviewed September 21, 2012Rob Hamilton says: "The main challenge for me when playing River City Ransom was simply surviving the trek between the second and third malls, as you have to travel through many screens and the easier gangs are weeded out in favor of ones that cause a lot more damage when their attacks connect. Lose your rhythm against The Generic Dudes and your life meter will barely notice; do so against The Squids and you'll quickly find yourself sent back to the last mall you reached, but with only half your money (the penalty for falling in battle)." |

River City Ransom reviewReviewed April 25, 2004kingbroccoli says: "River City Ransom (given the rather masculine name of ''Street Gangs'' in Australia) is perhaps the most enjoyable NES game you'll ever play. River City Ransom reviewReviewed August 20, 2010Leroux says: "In the military, it’s a type of inspection you don’t want to fail. In competition, it means you’re playing without advantages normally at your disposal. With “of the law”, it is the unbearable barb of the headline writer after a police force lifts its height restriction. " |

River City Ransom reviewReview date unknownroyalranger says: "Technos Japan practically set the foundation for future video game brawlers. They are credited as developers of the Double Dragon games, as well as Super Dodge Ball, which isn't exactly a brawler but may make you want to beat up your opponent when you lose to them during a two-player match. Among their limited library of games is River City Ransom, Technos' very own blend combining the elements of RPGs, brawlers, and mini-malls. " |
