The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim review (Xbox 360)

Reviewed November 28, 2011

Tom Chick says: "This is when Skyrim will reward you most richly. Not when you're trying to win, or beat it, or get to the end, or level up, or earn the achievements. Not when you're playing it like a stat-based RPG, or a single-player MMO, or a challenge. Skyrim is putatively a game. More accurately, it's a narrative loom."

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim review (Xbox 360)

Reviewed February 10, 2012

Rob Hamilton says: "It's the sort of fantasy epic that perfectly matches the game's barbarian choir musical intro and the constant array of thick nordic voices exhorting you to fight for your country. Still, it was dozens upon dozens of hours before any of this main quest work was done for any reason other than me randomly wandering somewhere I was supposed to be."

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim review

Reviewed February 27, 2012

andgregorik says: "The main plotline is haunted by a sense of wonder and is graced by many (scripted) scenes that are bound to be remembered as some of the most memorable scenes in gaming: the first dragon hunt at the Whiterun guard tower; the reading of the Elder Scroll on the mountaintop; the dragon trapping in Dragonreach; the greeting and cheering of a dozen flying dragons after the final battle.
