Assassin's Creed: Revelations review (Xbox 360) |

Reviewed by Tom Chick (December 19, 2011) Combat is still solid when it's one guy fighting a handful of enemies polite enough to hang back and wait their turns. But when Ubisoft tries larger encounters, which they do frequently in Revelations, Assassin's Creed combat looks suspiciously like Dynasty Warriors. That's not something to aspire to. When a riot breaks out, it looks unintentionally hilarious, with characters shuffling and bumping uncertainly. It looks more like a high school dance. |

Assassin's Creed: Revelations review (PlayStation 3) |

Reviewed by Jason Venter (October 01, 2012) If you try hard enough, you can get past all of that and have a reasonably good time even without prior knowledge, but of course that’s not the point. If you play Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, the point is that you’ve come all this way with Ezio (and Altair), and now you want to find out their stories end. This is the game that will show you that stuff, and you’ll likely enjoy yourself quite a bit more if you actually care about the characters and the ongoing mythology. |

Assassin's Creed: Revelations review (Xbox 360) |

Reviewed by Suskie (December 03, 2011) When the game ends, we’re right where we started, only now we have a general idea of where the writers will take us in the next entry. Christ, it’s like Dragon Age II all over again. |
