Ally_Doig says: "When RAGE is in its comfort zone we're treated to a masterclass in brutal combat - a graduate from the Doom and Quake academy. Outside it we see a genuine attempt to step out of the shadow of those very classics, but without any meaningful success."

I'd completely understand if you've been hesitant to take the bite on id Software's Rage. Critical reception was lukewarm, with some critics loving the game's beautiful visuals and gunplay, while disliking the narrative and many of its design decisions.
