Reviewed by Azumangaman (April 20, 2008) Eternal Sonata is the latest Japanese RPG from Namco-Bandai. Popular classical composer Frederic François Chopin is ill and is sleeping away what seems to be his end. In what he believes to be a dream, Chopin finds himself in a beautiful new world where he sports a chic top hat. With having a famous composer with the likes of Chopin in a video game, one could only imagine how exciting the plot could be. Does Eternal Sonata take advantage of this and create an adventure like no other? |

Among the main three characters are Polka, a terminally ill teenage girl who's going on a soul searching journey; Allegretto, a homeless guy who excels in swordsmanship and has the hots for Polka; and Fredrick, the incarnation of renowned pianist Fredrick Chopin who is convinced that the fantastical world that Polka and Allegretto live in is his dream a... |

The dazzling ambience of rich colour, every shade of the rainbow, is quite a sight to behold. It's almost as if Eternal Sonata is a vibrant dream, and that isn't far from the truth. This obscure tale unfolds within the confines of a dream; that of the famed composer, Frederic Chopin, who lies on his deathbed.
