Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest reviewReviewed December 08, 2012Rob Hamilton says: "First, a company comes out with a game that has potential and is terrific in some aspects, but it lacks a bit overall. In the case of Rare's Donkey Kong Country, the Super Nintendo played host to an absolutely gorgeous platformer that just didn't live up to the (admittedly very high) standard set for that system by Super Mario World. It was solid and it tended to be enjoyable, but no new ground was broken and things could get repetitive. It seemed to be the ultimate in playing it safe — a game that could have come with a disclaimer: "You've done all this before, but it's never looked this good… has it?!" With Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, it's safe to say that Rare’s developers were through with the whole "testing the waters" phase, as they not only improved on the original, but managed to create one of the top platformers I've ever played." |
Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest reviewReviewed September 14, 2004goldenvortex says: "After the release of the ever-lasting Donkey Kong Country, I was anticipating a sequel. I had a great time swinging through the jungle, creeping through caves and riding on cool animal assists. I wanted to experience it again but with all of the minor flaws that it produced corrected. However, DKC2 didn't exactly fix these problems, it just added a few more to the list. " |

Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest reviewReviewed December 06, 2002ratking says: "Donkey Kong Country was a big hit, and a sequel was a definite money maker. Therefore Rare was on top of it, and soon enough we had another Donkey Kong Country game in the making, without the main hero. At first people were skeptical, but it still had Diddy and similiar gameplay. Donkey Kong Country 2 is a very good sequel that does the job well, and follows up a terrific game. " |

Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest reviewReviewed November 01, 2003retro says: "The film industry has become notorious over the years for making movie sequels that hardly ever live up to the original. Predator was an instant action movie classic in the late 80's, and it deserved a superb sequel. What did it get? A boring, terrible piece of crap follow-up that doesn't even deserve the title, Predator 2. Other great movies, such as Batman, had an impressive sequel or two, but movie makers just wouldn't leave the series alone and let it remain in good standing. Instead, they d..." |
