At the end of the day, most everything special is here, but loving the anomaly is like drinking a can of V8 when all you really wanted was celery juice. Instead of selecting the title of the original game you wanted to play, you choose things by picking the ‘mode’ as you choose your character.

In a sense, Street Fighter Anniversary Collection should be the ultimate 2-D fighting experience. Not only does it include Hyper Street Fighter 2, a compilation of all of the SF2 versions into one but, it also contains one of the best “new-school” 2-D fighters: Street Fighter 3: Third Strike. Not only do we get two of the greatest fighting games of all time, we get the full-length 1994 anime movie. Although, this may not enthral the majority of us, a handful of fanatics will be enthused.

After months of painful delays, Street Fighter Anniversary Collection finally arrived on the Xbox, and while it isn't perfect, it’s a welcome addition to my gaming library. This amalgamation of the Street Fighter II-series games (World Warriors, Champion Edition, Turbo [Special Champion Edition on the Genesis], Super, and Super Turbo) in the form of Street Fighter II Hyper, combined with the final installment of the Street Fighter III series (Third Strike) crams a lot of fighting onto one disc,...
