Jason Venter says: "See, the game isn't just about action stages. Taking a note from Mario, Sega decided to include a central hub that collects levels. This area is populated by people and wide open spaces where nothing is happening. To get from one area to the next, Sonic must traverse the extremely dull hub, and perhaps even solve a few puzzles along the way. Even if he happens to be retrieving some power-up, though, this portion of the game is downright dull."

theredbaron47 says: "I was all excited when I first heard of Sonic Adventure and got my Dreamcast. I thought that it would be just like the other Sonic games for Genesis, like Sonic 2, which I thought was a work of art, only in the third dimension. I even saw a demo of it playng in a store, and thought it was still good. I also purchased Soul Calibur for Dreamcast, and thought that SA would be like SC, too. Boy, was I wrong. "
