Reviewed by Zack M (Date unavailable) With plenty of twists and turns and loops and corkscrews, and several different ways to reach a certain objective, the story is neither flat nor boring. And, may I note, is a far different story than your traditional RPG, along with a difference in gameplay. |

Reviewed by falsehead (March 08, 2004) Summarizing the appeal of Shenmue and the reason why I love it so much has been one of the hardest things I have ever tried to write. Maybe its because Shenmue is less a game and more of an “experience”. Indeed its lack of many of the traditional elements of gameplay has caused many people to dismiss it as nice to look at but a chore to play. Reviewed by metaliknight (Date unavailable) In the vast universe of gaming, there are some titles that are about as shallow as a children's swimming pool at a YMCA. And on the other hand, there are titles that are so vast that the Pacific Ocean wouldn't even match in comparison. Shenmue for the Sega Dreamcast is just that deep. |
